Personal Significance
For me, Palm Wine represents a personal transformation. After leaving an abusive relationship, I found myself deeply influenced by Beyonce’s Lemonade album. One day I said to myself, “If Beyoncé can turn the lemons of her marital problems into Lemonade, then I can turn the coconut trees of mine into Palm Wine.”
